PERSONAL PROJECTS PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

In early 2009, I started photographing past presidents of the Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA), to celebrate their 60th Anniversary, as a personal project

I enjoyed it so much that I decided I'd try to contact other photographers that have inspired me from all over the world, with a view to photographing them

I was amazed that even very high profile photographers were willing to let me shoot them, no pressure! The project gained momentum as each photographer I shot suggested or introduced me to another

I'm hoping to publish a book of this work, let's see where it leads and watch this space.......

The Spring 2010 edition of the Irish Arts Review magazine features a comprehensive commentary on some images of Irish photographers from this project, in their article 'Out of the Darkroom'
